Note of the Foreign Ministry

The Farnesina condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the serious criminal act committed against First Counsellor Susanna Schlein and her family in Athens. During the night, unknown people torched Counsellor Schlein’s car, which then exploded and was completely destroyed. Awakened by a quick sequence of bangs, Counsellor Schlein immediately realised there was an attempt to set ablaze another car she owns, next to which a Molotov cocktail with a half-consumed fuse was found. Greek police are conducting all the necessary investigation and forensic surveying. The Farnesina expresses its closeness and utmost solidarity to Counsellor Schlein and her family.
