Upon the indication of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Foreign Ministry Crisis Unit, in agreement with the Ministry of Defence, has immediately taken action to facilitate the repatriations of Italian travellers who remained in Israel due to the cancellation of flights and the difficulties of repatriation by tour operators.
7 flights were organised on 10 and 11 October. Three of them are operated by the NEOS commercial carrier at reduced prices, while the Italian Air Force operates the remaining four in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence.
These 7 flights should bring back to Italy about 900 Italian nationals, a group composed mainly of temporary travellers such as tourists and pilgrims.
