Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, met today at Palazzo Chigi with a delegation of relatives of hostages held by Hamas.
Tajani expressed his full solidarity with Israel and the Israeli people for the suffering caused by the terrorist attack on 7 October, and reminded the hostages’ families that the Italian Government is committed to facilitating the release of those still in the hands of Hamas.
“We are closely following the ongoing negotiations and we are constantly working with all the interlocutors and at all levels to ensure that the hostages are released and finally reunited with their loved ones”, said the Deputy Prime Minister, once again recalling the tragic loss of the three Italian-Israeli citizens and how “in these dramatic moments we all have a duty to further commit to reject all forms of intolerance and hatred and to promote mutual respect and dialogue”.
