Yesterday, in Guatemala City, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giorgio Silli, attended the inauguration ceremony for the President-elect of the Republic of Guatemala, Cesar Bernardo Arévalo De Leon.
Undersecretary Silli’s presence at the event – reaffirming the excellent state of bilateral relations and Italy’s closeness to Guatemala’s people and institutions – bears witness to Italy’s support for the democratically elected government led by President Arévalo, in the current complex political situation prevailing in this Central American country.
