The Working Group of G7 Legal Advisers concluded today in Rome its in-person meeting under the Presidency of Italy.
The Secretary General of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb Riccardo Guariglia, officially opened the event yesterday. Its agenda developed through three sessions focused on topics of great relevance and at the centre of current international affairs, such as legal issues relating to ongoing conflicts, the legal challenges associated with the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, and the protection of critical undersea infrastructures.
Important international guests participated in the discussion, including Father Benanti, Head of the Italian Committee of Experts on I.A. to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Member of the UN High-Level Advisory Body on I.A., and Matteo Mecacci, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
Today’s meeting reaffirmed that legal diplomacy is an integral part of the G7 States’ foreign policy.
