Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani today met with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp on the sidelines of the NATO summit being held in Washington, D.C.
The two Ministers expressed their common will to give continuity to the intense relations between Italy and the Netherlands and agreed to strengthen the political dialogue and bilateral cooperation at all levels.
Tajani and Veldkamp agreed to organise in Caserta the next edition of the Van Wittel/Vanvitelli Roundtable, a forum on international and EU issues open to civil companies and societies. The Caserta meeting will be dedicated to growth issues and will focus on technological innovation and also on the agro-industrial sector.
During the meeting, the two Ministers also expressed their common interest in intensifying cooperation and coordination between Rome and The Hague at EU and NATO level.
They both expressed appreciation for the NATO leaders’ decision to appoint a Special Envoy for the Southern Flank, an area strategic to European interests.
