Italy-Iraq Joint Declaration

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy, Antonio Tajani, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Iraq, Fouad Hussein, express their deep concern about the increasing tension in the Middle East, which is threatening the entire region. Italy and Iraq remain committed to execute all efforts to avoid a regional escalation and call on all involved parties to resort to dialogue and diplomacy in order to foster de-escalation and provide space for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

The two Ministers agreed to remain in close contact, also in the perspective of the Mediterranean Dialogues initiative, which will be organized by the Italian Government and held in Rome in late November.
