Today the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Edmondo Cirielli, visited Warsaw where he met, for the second time in a few months, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Marek Prawda, for an in-depth discussion that confirmed the excellent state of bilateral Italian-Polish relations.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Cirielli commented: “‘Poland is a friendly country and a fundamental partner for Italy, to which we are bound by very solid and growing political and economic relations. It is important to keep the intensity of the political dialogue high and to strengthen coordination on the main topics of the international and European agenda.”
Discussions focused primarily on the main bilateral dossiers. Ample space was also devoted to the international agenda, starting with the continuing conflict in Ukraine, recent developments related to the energy crisis in Moldova, and relations between Europe and the United States. The dossiers on migration and hybrid threats were finally addressed, as well as the topic of cooperation with Africa under the Mattei Plan. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the informal meeting of Development Ministers, organised by Poland in the framework of the six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
