The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been informed of movements of Israeli naval units in proximity to the vessels of the Flotilla, which set sail in recent days en route to Gaza. Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani has immediately instructed the Crisis Unit, the Embassy of Italy in Tel Aviv and the Embassy of Italy in Athens to obtain information from the Israeli and Greek authorities in order to ascertain the scope and nature of the ongoing operation and to allow the Italian Government to take the necessary measures to protect Italian citizens on board.
