Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmondo Cirielli today attended the opening of Codeway Expo 2026, the Italian exhibition dedicated to international cooperation and sustainable development, held from 13 to 15 May 2026 at the Rome Exhibition Centre (Fiera di Roma). He also visited the exhibition stands, including the space curated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), dedicated to the initiatives of the Italian Development Cooperation system.
Now in its seventh edition, Codeway is an innovative platform bringing together key actors in the international development cooperation community. It places particular emphasis on the role of the private sector within Italy’s development cooperation system, particularly in Africa, where Italian companies are already actively involved in the design and co-financing of development projects, also in line with the Mattei Plan.
In his address, Deputy Minister Cirielli highlighted the leading role played by Italian enterprises in international cooperation: “Italy is defining an innovative approach to development cooperation, capable of bringing together institutions, businesses, universities and civil society to implement initiatives with strong social and economic impacts for partner communities and countries”.
