Following his telephone conversation with Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, held further discussions with the American negotiators and mediators who are in Rome to continue talks on the situation in Lebanon.

Tajani had already held an in-depth discussion with Araghchi on Lebanon. Tajani highlighted the great importance Italy attaches to stability in the Land of the Cedars and expressed the hope that this second round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, held in Rome, would yield concrete results.

Tajani confirmed to the Israeli and Lebanese negotiators and the American mediators that Italy will continue to work at a political and diplomatic level to facilitate any initiative aimed at promoting dialogue and regional stability. In this regard, Italy is ready to continue playing its part, in close cooperation with its regional and international partners.
