Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani took part today at the Farnesina in the meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and ANCE, the Italian National Association of Building Contractors. During the meeting, which was attended by President Antonio Ciucci, accompanied by the Vice-President for Overseas Projects, Gaetano Vecchio, alongside the directors of ANCE and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister reaffirmed the Association’s role as a key and strategic partner in the field of growth diplomacy, highlighting the contribution made by member companies to the international profile of the ‘Sistema Italia’ through their presence in over 60 countries. According to the ANCE 2024 Report on the global presence of Italian construction companies, 25 major firms generate a turnover of EUR 13.4 billion abroad, accounting for over 57 per cent of their total turnover, whilst the value of ongoing overseas contracts exceeds EUR 116 billion.
The Minister confirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to encouraging ever-wider participation by member companies in the economic missions and partnership initiatives promoted by the Ministry. To further develop this collaboration, the presentation of the ANCE 2025 Foreign Trade Report will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and ANCE will take part in the Conference on Export, which will be held in Rome on 6 October and will involve the regions of Central Italy.
Finally, the importance of ANCE’s collaboration in the maintenance of the extensive portfolio of properties abroad – comprising Embassies, Consulates, Permanent Representations, Italian Cultural Institutes and other Italian state-owned premises – was discussed; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acts as the central contracting authority for the management of these properties.
