The Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani will be in Taranto this afternoon for the appointments related to the XX edition of the Mediterranean Games.
In Taranto, the Minister will visit the ‘AROYA’ floating village at 5.30 p.m. – the main hub of the ‘Mediterranean Village’ – and, afterwards, the Iacovone Stadium. At 7.00 p.m., Tajani will watch the men’s water polo match between Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking the Settebello’s debut at the XX Mediterranean Games. The event involves 26 countries, over 4,500 athletes and 33 sports; more than ten official delegations have already taken part in the event, confirming sport as an important means of fostering dialogue and promoting Italy internationally.
The presence of Minister Tajani highlights the link between sport, sea and Made in Italy. Sport and business will also take centre stage at the third edition of the Italian Sport Day in the World, scheduled for 14 September at the Farnesina under the title ‘ITALIA: Terra d’Imprese, Mare d’eccellenza’; an event dedicated to the role of sport in promoting Italian excellence and supporting internationalisation, and aimed at taking stock of the results of two years of sports diplomacy.
At 8:15 p.m., in Ceglie Messapica, Tajani will finally be in Ceglie Messapica to participate in the IX edition of ‘La Piazza – Il Bene comune’, an event organised by Affaritaliani and the Association La Piazza.
