The fourth stop of the exhibition “MOSAIC. Italian Code of a timeless art” was inaugurated at the Korea Foundation Gallery in Seoul. The event, organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Seoul under the auspices of the Italian Embassy and in collaboration with the Korea Foundation, is one of the central events in the celebrations marking the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Korea, as well as part of the Year of Cultural Exchange between Italy and Korea.

The exhibition, produced by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and conceived and realised by Magister Art, is developed through seven thematic sections. It takes visitors on a journey through Italy spanning 2,000 years, revealing images, symbols, techniques and materials linked to some of the most famous and representative mosaics of the country, from the ancient streets of Rome and Pompeii to the mosaics of Ravenna, Palermo, Monreale, Piazza Armerina and Baia.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Italian Ambassador to Korea, Emilia Gatto, the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Seoul, Michela Linda Magri, and the President of the Korea Foundation, Kim Gheewhan. It will remain open until 28 February.
