The call for applications for the third edition of the Vienna Prize is now available online. This award is open to Italian artists born after 31 December 1990, with a good command of the English language and preferably also of German, working specifically in the field of performance art and having at least one solo exhibition or a recognised and significant artistic action to their credit. The initiative arises from a collaboration between the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, the Directorate-General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Italian Cultural Institute of Vienna.
The selection committee will appoint two winners, who will have the opportunity to spend six months in Vienna (November 2025 – April 2026) to professionally deepen their research in performance art. During the residency, the two selected artists will participate in activities organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Vienna and the Angewandte Performance Laboratory (APL).
