In Ancona, today, the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Manlio Di Stefano, spoke at the ITASEC20 forum, an important national and European event dedicated to cybersecurity, attended by companies operating in the sector and representatives of the institutions involved.
“Cybersecurity has become a key aspect of international relations, precisely because of its growing impact on the international order.” – said the Undersecretary – “In the 21st century, conflicts and threats are no longer confined to the physical world and outer space. Risks and threats today, to both States and ordinary people, also come from the Cyberspace, which, in fact, has become the fifth dimension for both defence and attack.”
“The Italian Government” – he continued – “supports businesses also through policies aimed at developing the digital economy, with a constant focus on security, because cyber-secure, cohesive and united companies can enhance the security of the Country as a whole, ensuring that it is less exposed to digital threats. In particular, the Foreign Ministry and the ICE, in partnership with other competent organisations and government departments, are committed to promoting and protecting the Country and the leading companies in this sector, to create business opportunities, providing facilitations for start-ups and innovative SMEs.”
