Today, Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto had a telephone conversation with the Swiss State Secretary responsible for European affairs, Roberto Balzaretti, as part of the ongoing cooperation between the two governments to ensure the protection of the health of frontier workers and to allow a safe resumption of productive activities.
The talks focused on the issues that emerged following the decision to proceed with the easing of restrictive measures in the Canton of Ticino and with a view to the launch of Phase Two in Italy.
About road access, Secretary of State Balzaretti was fully prepared to examine an Italian request for the reopening of several secondary crossings, the closure of which is causing delays and queues at the border in recent days.
With regard to the harmonization of prevention measures, Scalfarotto and Balzaretti have deepened the possibility of a comparison table between their respective Regions (Piedmont, Lombardy and Valle d’Aosta) and Cantons (Ticino, Valais and Graubünden) in order to share information and good practices on workplace safety and health protection of employees.
