Di Stefano opens the National Day of Wine and Olive Oil Culture

Undersecretary Manlio Di Stefano opened today the National Day of Wine and Olive Oil Culture. Di Stefano was live on Facebook on the page of the Italian Sommellier Association. In his speech, Di Stefano highlighted how, since the first signs of emergency, the institutional activity of the MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Economics and Finance) has focused on the need to relaunch exports through an adequate promotion of Made in Italy. “This is why, together with Minister Di Maio, we wanted to launch the “Pact for Export”, an agreement with the production categories” – said the Undersecretary, illustrating the concrete measures that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating, in consultation with business associations.

“We want to start again from exports and therefore from agri-foodstuffs, to offer free trade fair modules for 2021, non-refundable financing for exports and experts in internationalization and digital science (Digital TEM) financed 50% by the State as well as agreements with the major marketplaces and mass-distribution. The agri-food industry (where wine and olive oil are fundamental) is a strategic sector in almost all markets; it conveys an image of Italy, which is immediately perceived by foreign markets and can also be a vehicle for much more” – concluded the Undersecretary.
