Mr Di Stefano at the Assembly of Unione Italiana Vini

Undersecretary Manlio Di Stefano participated today in the General Assembly of Unione Italiana Vini. “The agri-food industry – he recalled – represents the first production chain in our country and contributes 42 billion euros to our exports. This is also thanks to a quality-oriented development model in which traditions and territories merge with innovation, research, culture and design, but also protection of the distinctive features of products”.

“The valorisation of agri-food products and the relaunch of exports in the sector – Mr Di Stefano continued – are consolidated priorities of our economic diplomacy, even more so after the signing of the Export Pact and the unprecedented mobilisation of resources that it implies. The Agri-foodstuffs Table was the first of the 12 sectoral Tables that I personally chaired and that have become part of the Export Pact, and agri-food stuffs is explicitly mentioned in the extraordinary 50 million euro communication campaign that we are launching”.

“In addition, both in the support to the trade fair sector and in that of subsidised finance, companies in the sector will receive concrete help for internationalisation” – the Undersecretary added – “In the coming months we will include 6 experts in agriculture in the diplomatic network, so as to offer even more support to our companies”.

“I remain convinced that working together we can expect excellent results in this common challenge to relaunch our country in the coming months,” the Undersecretary concluded.
