Ms Del Re, conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cabo Verde

Yesterday Vice Minister Emanuela Del Re had an conversation with the Foreign Minister of Cape Verde, Luis Filipe Tavares. The focus of the conversation – in addition to bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries – was an update on compatriot David Solazzo’s death.

The two interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the excellent level of bilateral relations, marked by a long and fruitful friendship and close cooperation in various sectors such as health, agrifoodstuffs, tax and legal fields.

In the spirit of this fruitful cooperation, the Vice Minister represented to Minister Tavares the importance that Italy attaches to David Solazzo’s case, who was found dead last year in Cabo Verde. “We believe it is our moral duty to get to the truth about what happened to David as quickly as possible. For Italy, shedding light on the causes of his death is a priority. In this respect, cooperation between the Legal authorities in Rome and in Praia is essential, and it is necessary that the discussions take place promptly and without delay.”

Minister Tavares stated that he was aware of the matter and assured the Vice Minister of his personal commitment to the case of the young Italian co-operator.
