The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is pleased to announce that it will host in Rome, from 22 to 26 November, the EU-Balkans Youth Forum, which will bring together young people from across the region to discuss proposals for the future of Europe and for the path of closer relations between all Balkan countries and the EU.
Organised in partnership with the Regional Cooperation Council (Sarajevo), together with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (Tirana), the Centro Studi Politica Internazionale (Rome) and the Osservatorio Balcani Caucaso Transeuropa (Trento), the Forum will involve 33 countries, 78 students, 10 mentors and several political personalities from all over Europe, to gather new ideas and trace a path for future action. Minister Luigi Di Maio will attend the final session to listen directly to the proposals and report them to the Conference on the Future of Europe, which is currently taking place at EU level.
The Foreign Ministry will also make available funds that participants can later use for transnational projects, based on the discussions during the Forum.
Applications are open to university students from all EU and Balkan countries with a proven interest in EU integration and social engagement. The agenda and the form are available at www.eubalkanforum.org .
The deadline for submission of applications is 15 October 2021.
