Elections for the renewal of the Committees of Italians Abroad (Com.It.Es) will be held in 2026.
Com.It.Es are organizations that represent Italian nationals abroad in their relations with Embassies and Consulates and promote their integration. They are also responsible for preserving the historical memory of Italian emigration and enhancing the Italian contribution to the societies in which they operate.
Com.It.Es) may be established in consular districts with more than 3,000 AIRE members. They are composed of 12 members in communities with up to 100,000 Italian nationals and 18 members in communities exceeding that threshold. Committee members serve a five-year term.
Voting in the elections is by mail, and Italian nationals who have been resident in their consular district for at least six months are eligible.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reiterates the importance of voting, as this is a crucial moment for strengthening the representation of the many Italian communities abroad. The Committees serve as a constant point of reference for Italians, advocating for their needs and promoting their interests in their respective communities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation therefore urges all Italian citizens living abroad to actively participate in this important democratic event, thus helping to support and enhance their Italian community.
