On 19 January 2012, one year on from the start of the Arab Spring and at a crucial stage in redefining the regional framework, Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi will be visiting Cairo on a bilateral mission. Minister Terzi’s meetings in the Egyptian capital will make it possible to revitalise and consolidate, at all levels and in all spheres of cooperation, Italy’s strategic partnership with this key actor in the Mediterranean region.

An in-depth discussion of the content and aims of this important mission by Minister Terzi will take place during the usual weekly briefing by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Maurizio Massari. The briefing will be held at 12 mid-day on Tuesday 17 January, in the Sala Saraceno. Also taking part will be the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mohamed Farid Mohamed Monib.

To obtain accreditation, simply send an email to no later than 09.00 of Tuesday 17 January 2012.

Accredited journalists/photographers should use the rear entrance at Via Macchia della Farnesina, which will be open from 11.30 of Tuesday 17 January 2012.
