Arrival in Rome of Vice President of the United States of America Joseph Biden

Vice President of the United States of America Joseph Biden will arrive at Ciampino Airport on Sunday 17 March 2013 to be present at the Mass on Tuesday for the start of the Papacy of His Holiness Pope Francis.


Journalists and camera persons wishing to cover the arrival at Ciampino Military Airport of Vice President Joseph Biden, must request specific accreditation.


Requests must be received no later than 19:00 on Saturday 16 March and use the interactive form available at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format (letter from the director of the news organ concerned and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale from the embassy in Rome of the country to which the news organ belongs).



If in exceptional cases it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, applications in writing on company letterhead and signed by the director of the organisation concerned—indicating name, surname, date and place of birth, number of a valid ID document and qualification—should be sent by fax to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tel. 063691.3432 fax 06.3691.2122).


Requests received after the above-stated deadline will not be considered.


All accredited members of the press are to report directly to Ciampino Civilian Airport (Aviazione Generale) on 17 March 2013 between the hours of 17:30 and 19:00.


Satellite coverage providers are to report to Ciampino Military Airport – 31st storno – by 18:00, and all staff are requested to be equipped with at least 30 metres of cable. Once their equipment has been positioned they are directed to Ciampino Civilian Airpot (Aviazione Generale) for normal control procedures.
