ANNOUNCEMENT FOR EDITORS-IN-CHIEF: Iraqi Day – Trade and Investment Meeting” (Foreign Ministry Rome, 3 July 2013)

The foreign ministry will host the forum “Iraqi Day – Trade and Investment Meeting” at 9:30 on Wednesday 3 July, organised by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with UNIDO.


 


Deputy Foreign Minister Lapo Pistelli will be present at the event along with representatives of the ministries and agencies concerned (MFA, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Transport, ICE, SACE, SIMEST, Confindustria and the banking sector). Representing Iraq will be a government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Roz Nouri Shaways, which will include Minister for Planning Al Shukri, Minister for Trade Babakr and President of the Investments Commission Al Araji. There will also be 140 Iraqi business persons and representatives from many Italian firms.


 


This is the second edition of Iraqi Day, and follows upon the success last year’s. Its aim is to promote and increase commercial trade between the two countries and foster the development of small and medium sized firms in Iraq.


 


Journalists and camera operators interested in covering the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation using the online accreditation system now available at the “Journalists Area” on the home page of the foreign ministry’s website www.esteri.it. Please complete the interactive form provided in the Press section of our web site, to which all required documentation can be attached in digital format. If in exceptional cases it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, applications in writing on company letterhead and signed by the director of the organisation concerned—indicating name, surname, date and place of birth, number of a valid ID document and qualification—should be sent by fax to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tel. 063691.3432 fax 06.3691.2122).


 


Accredited journalists/photographers may collect their ID badges personally at the Ministry of Fofreign Affairs, Via della Macchia della Farnesina entrance, beginning at 8:45.
