On Wednesday 11 October 2013, during the 6th Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference, a workshop will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome entitled “Building a Woman Partnership for Food Security”, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA) and EXPO 2015.
The workshop sessions, divided into panels on food security and nutrition and respective debates on the themes, will open at 15:00 with a speech by Deputy Foreign Minister Marta Dassù and close at 18:00 with speeches by Foreign Minister Emma Bonino and Foreign Minister of Colombia María Angela Holguín.
Participants are to include Minister for Equal Opportunity of Paraguay Ana María Baiardi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Costa Rica Gioconda Ubeda Rivera, former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mexico Patricia Espinosa, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Argentina Maria del Carmen Squeff, Commissioner General for the Italian Pavilion and President of EXPO 2015 Diana Bracco.
The meeting falls within the context of the WE – Women for EXPO project presented in Turin on 4 October, and follows the analogous initiative “Women and Nutrition: Ideas for a Sustainable Future” held at FAO in the margins of the preparations for the 2nd International Conference on Nutrition of 14 November

Accredited journalists/photographers will be admitted at the main entrance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, left side, between the hours of 14:00 and 14:30.
