Accreditation Notice: Press Conference IBAC Italy 2014 (Farnesina, 10 January 2014)

A press conference is scheduled for 13:30 on Friday 10 January 2014 at the ministry of foreign affairs in Rome at the end of the IBAC Italy 2014 meeting, whose participants are to include Premier Enrico Letta, Minister for Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino and Chairman of IBAC(International Business Advisory Council) Sir Martin Sorrell.

Set up 20 years ago in Shanghai, IBAC members include executives of the world’s most important multinational corporations, and its aim is to suggest best practices for attracting investments, improving the quality of life, and developing the technologies and infrastructures that foster international competition. The decision to host the meeting for the first time at the foreign ministry in Rome is part of the Destinazione Italia Plan and is expressly cited under the heading of “Promotion”.

The event at the foreign ministry will seat together the top executives of over 50 multinationals and investment funds from around the world, including emerging nations such as China, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, to discuss how to make Italy more attractive to foreign investors, not least in view of the 3 major opportunities of the coming years: the 2015 EXPO, development of the Digital Agenda and possible candidacy for host of the 2024 Olympic Games.

– 9:00 coverage of opening speeches (Minister Bonino and Sir Sorrell, introduced by Secretary General Ambassador Michele Valensise) in English;
