The Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) joins the International Institute for Policy Studies (ISPI), Slow Food, FAO, University of Rome “La Sapienza” and the European Commission in organising an event on Thursday 11 June 2015 dedicated to sustainable development within the framework of the new Development Agenda. The event will be held at Milan’s Palazzo Castiglioni (Corso Venezia 47) has been organised within the context of EXPO Milan 2015 and the European Year of Development.
The purpose of the encounter is to underscore the importance of sustainability with regard to food security and nutrition, with special attention to the defence of the environment and the essential role of family agriculture.
The event will be opened by Secretary General of the MFAIC Amb. Michele Valensise, who will chair the panel, and include the participation of Vandana Shiva and prof- Michael Hauser, who will deliver the keynote speeches.
Also attending will be President of Flow Food Carlo Petrini, who will present the conclusions, and representatives of the European Commission and academic and research spheres.
