ACCREDITATION NOTICE – Italian Development Cooperation at EXPO Milan 2015 – LIMPOPO: THE CHALLENGES OF A TRANSFRONTIER PARK (EXPO Milan, 7 July 2015)

The Directorate General for Development Cooperation (DGDC) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) is organising a debate in collaboration with CESVI, a development NGO, on the challenges, results and future prospects of an important development transfrontier cooperation project. The debate will take place at the EXPO, in the Cascina Triulza, on Tuesday 7 July 2015. The initiative is one of the events organised for EXPO Milan 2015 and the European Year of Development.

The project in question, implemented by CESVI and co-funded by the MFAIC, focuses on sustainable development and the management of natural resources in the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, at the border between South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. It includes initiatives to foster economic benefits for communities living in border regions.

Lella Costa will introduce the event with readings from African texts, accompanied by photos by Andrea Frazzetta. Anna Maria Giordano, from Radio Tre Mondo, will then moderate the debate by Paolo Caroli, CESVI project manager for the Limpopo programme, and Alfredo Guillet (DGDC). The participants will also include Giangi Milesi, president of CESVI and Cristiano Maggipinto, head of office 9 at DGDC and coordinator of Italian Development Cooperation’s EXPO activities.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event should first obtain accreditation for EXPO 2015 at least 2.3 working days before arrival, using the link: https://accreditation.expo2015.org/mediahome.aspx?lang=IT.

They should then apply for accreditation with the Ministry by sending an email to dgcs.eventi@esteri.i
