The conference “Protecting and Promoting Human Rights” will take place in the Farnesina’s International Conference Room on Wednesday 22 July from 10:00 to 12:30.
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni will open the discussions.
Organised by the Interministerial Committee on Human Rights (CIDU), the event involves PMs, NGOs, foreign diplomats and representatives of the civil society involved in human rights, and specifically with regard to the institution in Italy of an independent national sector agency.
Speakers are to include President of the Senate Extraordinary Commission for the Defence and Promotion of Human Rights Senator Luigi Marconi and Chamber of Deputies President of the Permanent Committee on Human Rights the Hon. Mario Marazziti. Other participants will include former-Minister for Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino, Secretary General of the European Network of National Independent Agencies Debbie Kohner and Professor of the University of Padua Antonio Papisca.
The event will conclude with a debate moderated by President of the Interministerial Committee on Human Rights Min. Plen. Gianludovico de Martino.
