The “WeWorld Index 2016 – Children, Adolescents and Women in a world of outcasts” report will be presented to the public on 15 March 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Farnesina. The event is sponsored by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the European Commission in collaboration with the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and Concord Italia.
WeWorld is an Italian NGO working in the field of development cooperation in Asia, Africa and Latin America. It supports children, women and local communities.
The WeWorld Report shines a light on the tie tightly binding boys’ and girls’ rights to gender equality.
The event’s agenda includes speeches by Giampaolo Cantini, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Elena Caneva from WeWorld’s Study Centre and Franco Conzato, Deputy Head of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (DG DEVCO). Also contributing will be Eugenia Gammarota of the Department of Equal Opportunities of Italy’s Council of Ministries, Roberta Agostini of the Chamber of Deputies and Daniela Invernizzi, advisor on “International Children Rights”. A representative of Concord Italia will chair the meeting while Mr Marco Chiesara, chairman of WeWorld, will conclude it.
