ACCREDITATION NOTICE – “Italy at Rio 2016” Presentation Event (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 7 July 2016)

On Thursday, 7 July 2016, at 11.00 a.m., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be hosting an event to present the plans and activities promoted by Italy for the 31st Olympic Games and 15th Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, entitled “Italy at Rio 2016”. It will be opened by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, in the presence of the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, and the Undersecretary for Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto.

The event will highlight the various activities intended to ensure that the “Italy brand” message is conveyed strongly in Brazil during the two international sporting events of the 31st Olympic Games and 15th Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

It will also be attended by the Brazilian Ambassador to Italy, Ricardo Neiva Tavares, the Chairman of the Italian Olympic Committee, Giovanni Malagò, the Chairman of the Paralympic Committee, Luca Pancalli, the Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincenzo De Luca, the Director General of RAI, Antonio Campo dall’Orto and the Curator of the “Games in Greece and Rome” exhibition, Prof. Eugenio La Rocca.

Among the various activities, particular emphasis will be placed on:

•         the “Games in Greece and Rome” exhibition at the Rio de Janeiro Museum of Fine Art;

•         the activities of Casa Italia and the Italia Team, which range from design to well-being and high quality cuisine;

•         the ICE commercial promotion activities;

•         the media partnership launched between MAECI and RAI;

•         the “Arte in Scena” exhibition organised by the MAXXI Foundation.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews are requested to apply for online accreditation by completing the interactive form at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Nota Verbale issued by the Embassy in Rome of the media organisation’s country).

Accredited journalist, photographers and TV crews can enter via the rear entrance on Via Macchia della Farnesina at 10.15 a.m.
