ACCREDITATION NOTICE – IDLO Partnership Forum: Access to Justice and The Rule of Law (Farnesina, 29 November 2016)

On Tuesday, 29 November, at 2 p.m., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) will host the IDLO Partnership Forum: “Access to Justice and The Rule of Law as Drivers of Sustainable Development: Opportunities and Challenges” during the Annual Assembly of Parties of IDLO (International Development Law Organization).

Drawing inspiration from the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a special focus on the access to justice, fighting inequalities and promoting social inclusion, the Forum aims to analyse the ways in which the rule of law, by giving access to justice, can promote sustainable development and contribute to making societies more peaceful and less unfair.

The Forum will be introduced by Nawaf Al-Mahamel, President of IDLO Assembly of Parties, and will be divided into two sections which will include, among others, contributions by Willy Mutunga, former Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, Irene Khan, Director General of IDLO,  Mohammad Farid Hamidi, Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Alfredo Durante Mangoni, MAECI’s Coordinator of international anti-corruption activities, Alicia Beatriz Pucheta de Correa, President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay, U Tun Tun Oo, Attorney General of Myanmar, and Dunstan Mlambo, Judge President of the High Court of South Africa.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following two ways:

–    by filling the interactive form at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching thereto, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country).    

–   by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching thereto the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.     

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews should enter the Ministry from the main entrance– left-hand side – from 1:30 p.m.
