On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 December 2021, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will take place the 14th Conference of Italian Ambassadors around the World titled: “Making a new start together: how Italy’s foreign and European policy can contribute to reshaping the International System”.
The Conference will be attended and addressed by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, the President of the Council of Ministers, Mario Draghi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio.
Once again, the Foreign Ministry brings together about 100 Italian ambassadors around the world at this event, which is an opportunity to exchange views and discuss issues that may enable this Department of Government – also thanks to its vast diplomatic network – to spearhead security and development initiatives on behalf of the entire country. The Conference will focus on the commitment of the Italian diplomatic network in areas such as the geopolitical developments in the World in the wake of the pandemic, the role of women in the diplomatic service, Italy’s contribution to responding to global challenges, and how the Foreign Ministry can enhance Italy’s recovery and worldwide image.

Second session – The Role of Women in the Diplomatic Service
Speeches by: Minister Luigi Di Maio, a written address by the Senator for life Liliana Segre, the Ambassador in Washington Maria Angela Zappia and the Ambassador in Berlin Armando Varricchio.

Closing session with speeches by the President of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry.
The speeches delivered at the opening session, the second session (20 December) and the closing session (21 December) may be followed directly in the press room by photographers and camera operators and via closed-circuit TV in the listening room set up at the Foreign Ministry by journalists.
All three sessions will also be live-streamed on the Foreign Ministry’s Youtube channel.
Journalists, photographers and camera operators interested in following the sessions open to the press are kindly requested to apply for accreditation no later than 17.00 on Friday, 17 December, either:

Due to the limited space, it will be possible to grant accreditations only to 1 journalist, 1 photographer and/or 1 cameraman per media organisation.
Media accreditations will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis and only accredited media representatives will be admitted to the conference venue at the Foreign Ministry.
Media representatives who do not receive confirmation of accreditation shall not be admitted.
Please be informed that only media representatives holding a green pass certification will be admitted into the venue.

Media representatives are informed that, due to the Conference, the police authorities have put into place security measures restricting vehicle traffic and the use of parking spaces in the proximity of the Foreign Ministry. In particular, parking on Via Macchia della Farnesina is prohibited.
