Media Accreditation Note – 17 May at 10 a.m.: International Day Against Homophobia – Statement by Undersecretary Della Vedova and the Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTIQ+ persons of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

MEDIA ACCREDITATION NOTE 

 

On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), on Tuesday, 17 May 2022 at 10 a.m., the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Benedetto Della Vedova, and the Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTIQ+ persons in the world of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Fabrizio Petri, will make a statement to the press in the square of the Farnesina.

For the first time, this year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation takes part in this International Day by displaying a banner of the so-called Freedom Flag, notoriously associated with the LGBTIQ+ movement.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in attending the event may apply for accreditation by 4 p.m. on Monday, 16 May 2022, by sending a request via email to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. 06/3691.3432 – 06/3691.8573 – 06/3691.3078), attaching thereto the letter of their news media organization, and for members of the foreign press, also a Note Verbale issued by the Rome Embassy of the news media organization’s Country.

Accredited press may go directly to the main square at the Farnesina, at the Big Sphere by Arnaldo Pomodoroat 9.30 a.m.
