Conference “Women for peace: the Afghan challenge”
Farnesina – 13 December 2022, 3:00 p.m.
On Tuesday 13 December 2022 at 3:00 p.m., the Conference “Women for peace: the Afghan challenge” will be held at the International Conference Room of the Farnesina. The Conference is the public event of the project “Women’s participation in the peace and stabilisation process in Afghanistan”, developed by Women In International Security (WIIS) Italy, with the support of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, within the framework of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 2020-2024 (NAP WPS).
The aim of the initiative is to provide enhanced support to Afghan women peacebuilders and to promote an ongoing dialogue on the future of Afghanistan and women’s rights in the country.
The Conference will be opened by Undersecretary Maria Tripodi and will be developed in two panels moderated respectively by Nicoletta Pirozzi, Vice-President of WIIS Italia and Azzurra Meringolo, journalist and founding member of WIIS Italia. The conclusions of the event will be drawn by the Italian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Natalia Quintavalle.
Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in covering the event in person may apply for accreditation by no later than 12:00 AM on Tuesday, 13 December, via email to the following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel: +39 06/3691.3432 – 06/3691.8573), attaching thereto:
– an identity document;
– a letter of his/her media organization and, in lack thereof, a professional press card;
– a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organization’s Country (for representatives of foreign media).
Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews can have access to the Farnesina Building from the main entrance, left-hand side, on December 13 from 2:30 to 2:50 AM approx.
The use of a FFP2 mask is highly recommended.
The provision of the above-stated personal data is tantamount to authorizing its use in compliance with Legislative Decree N. 196 of 30 June 2003 and of the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or reasons linked to the performance of the event concerned.
