Presentation of the NRRP project “Turismo delle radici.

Una strategia integrata per la ripresa del settore

del turismo nell’Italia post Covid-19”

 

On Wednesday 15 February from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – in its International Conference Hall – the NRRP Project “Turismo delle radici: una strategia integrata per la ripresa del settore del turismo nell’Italia post Covid-19” (Roots Tourism: An integrated strategy for the recovery of the tourism sector in post-Covid-19 Italy) will be presented.

The first part of the event, moderated by the Director General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Maria Vignali, will feature institutional speeches by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, the Undersecretary for Culture, Gianmarco Mazzi, the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, and the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini.

This will be followed by a technical session moderated by Stefano Polli, the Deputy Director of the Italian news agency ANSA. The session will be divided into four panels:

1) “I viaggi delle radici per la ripresa del turismo nell’Italia post-Covid-19” (Roots travel for the recovery of tourism in post-Covid-19 Italy) with speeches by ENIT CEO Ivana Jelinic, Unioncamere Secretary General Giuseppe Tripoli and ASMEF President Salvo Iavarone.

2) “L’impatto del turismo delle radici sui piccoli comuni” (The impact of roots tourism on small municipalities) with speeches by the ANCI association and by four mayors, each representing a part of Italy – South, Centre, North and the Islands.

3) Presentation of the book “Scoprirsi Italiani: i viaggi delle radici in Italia”, with speeches by the book’s authors and by representatives of Italian communities abroad.

4) “Comunicare il Turismo delle radici” (Communicating Roots Tourism) with speeches by Sabrina Talarico, President of GIST, Umberto Mucci of We the Italians, Gualtiero Carraro of AD-Carraro-lab and Fabrizio Ferragni, Director of Rai Italia.

There will be no live streaming of the event.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event in person may apply for accreditation by sending their request by Tuesday 14 February 2023 at 4 p.m. to the following e-mail address accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 or 3078), attaching the following:

For representatives of the Italian press:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

Foreign press representatives already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should send a request for accreditation with a copy of an identity document attached.

Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen may enter the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the main entrance, left side, on 15 February from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

The use of FFP2 masks is encouraged.
