PRESS ACCREDITATION INFORMATION NOTE

#INSIEMEPERGLISDG INITIATIVE 

NAPLES 26 AND 27 MAY 2023

From 24 to 27 May, the city of Naples will host the #InsiemepergliSDG initiative, a campaign promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with FAO, the UN SDG Action Campaign, the European Commission, CIHEAM Iamb of Bari and Save the Children Italy, in order to raise awareness on sustainable development goals.

The campaign will bring to the capital of Campania interactive installations on the Agenda2030 that can be visited at Maschio Angioino (free access) and three high-level events dedicated to food security, the role of cities and local bodies for the UN Agenda2030 and food policies for Mediterranean cities, organised in partnership with the City of Naples and the Federico II University of Naples/Agritech Centre.

 

  • On 27 May, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the event “Verso il secondo Vertice ONU sui sistemi alimentari: l’Italia presenta Agritech” (Towards the Second UN Food Systems Summit: Italy presents Agritech) will take place at the Main Hall of the San Giovanni a Teduccio Campus, Naples.

The event, which constitutes an important milestone in the run-up to the Second Sustainable Food Systems Summit – to be hosted in Rome from 24 to 26 July – and will turn the spotlight on Agritech’s important centre of international excellence, will be attended by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, the Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, the Italian Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini (from remote), as well as the Rector of the Federico II University, Matteo Lorito, the President of Coldiretti, Ettore Prandini, the President of Confagricoltura, Massimiliano Giansanti, and the CEO of Bonifiche Ferraresi SpA, Federico Vecchioni.

  • The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is scheduled to participate on 27 May from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the closing of the event “Le Politiche del cibo per le Città del Mediterraneo” (Food Policies for Mediterranean Cities) at the Sala dei Baroni of Maschio Angioino in Naples.
