On Wednesday 21 June 2023 from 7:30 p.m. onwards, the music festival “Festa della Musica” will be held in the square in front of the Farnesina, on the Olympic Stadium side. The initiative is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and is part of the “Turismo delle Radici” (“Roots Tourism”) NRRP programme, financed by the European Union.
The event will see the participation of the bands and dance-choral groups – selected following the “Bando delle Bande” Call for Participation in the 2023 Festa della Musica – who will perform 3 songs for a total duration of about 1 hour. The event will be opened by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and will be attended by political authorities, the 16 Mayors of the municipalities from which the bands and dance-choral groups come from, the Ambassadors of the countries represented in the General Council of Italians Abroad (Consiglio Generale degli Italiani all’Estero, CGIE), the 63 members of the CGIE, and the Members of Parliament elected abroad.
The initiative will be streamed live on the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation YouTube channel.
