4TH CONFERENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION AGENCIES “THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS”

Rome –16 November 2023

On Thursday 16 November 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the 4th Conference with International Higher Education Agencies, entitled “The economic impact of international students” will be held at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The event is co-organised by the Ministry and Uni-Italia, an association founded by MAECI, MUR, the Italian Ministry of the Interior, the Italian Trade Agency – ICE and CRUI that promotes Study in Italy to attract young talents from abroad to universities and AFAM, Higher Education Institutions for Artistic, Musical, and Choreographic Training.

The proceedings, opened by the Italian Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, will be preceded by an institutional photo.

The Italian Undersecretary of State for the Interior, Nicola Molteni, and the Head of the Cabinet of the MUR, Prof. Marcella Panucci, will also speak. The meeting will also be attended by Representatives of the Internationalisation Agencies of the countries that have carried out studies on the conference theme.

The President of Uni-Italia, Prof. Francesco Profumo, will present the first Italian national study, curated by Uni-Italia, entitled “International students in Italy: main features and economic impact – 2023”, which investigates the spending habits and induced income for Italy of the international student segment.

On the occasion of the Conference, Uni-Italia will also publish the first joint study on the economic impact of international students in various countries, drawn up jointly with the Internationalisation Agencies: Campus France, IIE, DAAD, Nuffic, British Council, Sepie, Edufi and Harno.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the event may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Wednesday, 15 November at 1:00 p.m., to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 – 3078 or 8210), attaching the following

For representatives of Italian press organisations:

  • copy of an identity document
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

Accredited press may enter the Farnesina from the main entrance, left side, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
