L’Italia tecnologica motore dell’internazionalizzazione

(Turin – 21, 22 and 23 April 2024)

 

 

On 23 April, from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., at the Castello del Valentino in Turin, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will speak at the institutional session of the Conference of Scientific and Space Attachés and Agricultural Experts 2024. Other speakers will include the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini; the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida; the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin; the Undersecretary of State for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Fausta Bergamotto; the President of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio; the Mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo; and the Rector of the Turin Polytechnic, Stefano Paolo Corgnati. Andrea Malaguti, editor of the daily La Stampa, will moderate the debate.

The institutional session, the only one open to the press, is part of the Conference of Scientific and Space Attachés and Agricultural Experts 2024, scheduled for 21, 22 and 23 April 2024 with the title “L’Italia tecnologica motore dell’internazionalizzazione (Italy’s Technology as a Driving Force for Internationalisation). The focus will be on some of the strategic sectors for Italy’s competitiveness, namely artificial intelligence, aerospace, technology transfer, innovation and start-ups, and technologies applied to agriculture.

The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for an exchange of views between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the network of Attachés and Experts working at Italian Embassies abroad, and the main Italian science, research and innovation organisations. The Conference aims to foster new synergies between institutions, the scientific and industrial worlds, and to promote the growing role of scientific and technological research and innovation for Italy’s competitiveness, by bringing together a wealth of excellence and expertise in multiple strategic sectors that are active in all areas of the world.

At the end of the institutional session on 23 April, Minister Tajani will make brief statements to the press.

The meeting will be streamed live on the Foreign Ministry’s YouTube channel.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event in person may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Monday 22 April at 5:00 p.m. to  accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691-3432 – 8573-3078-8210), attaching the following:

for representatives of Italian press organisations:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card;

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal Note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request shall be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

Accredited journalists and cameramen will have access to the Castello del Valentino Castle from the main entrance, Viale Pier Andrea Mattioli 39, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. on 23 April 2024.
