G7 High Level Event

“Investing in lifelong learning for job creation and resilience: a dialogue with Africa” 

(Royal Palace of Caserta, 1 October 2024)

The Royal Palace of Caserta will be hosting the High-Level Event “Investing in lifelong learning for job creation and resilience: a dialogue with Africa”, to be held by the Italian G7 Presidency on 1 October 2024 from 09:30 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m., after a welcome address by the President of the Italian National School of Administration Paola Severino, Italy’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli will give a speech. The Italian Minister for the Family, Birth Rate and Equal Opportunities Eugenia Roccella and the Minister for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida (attending via video link) will also intervene during the day’s sessions, while the Minister for Health Orazio Schillaci (attending via video link) will speak in the afternoon. Other guests participating in the discussion include representatives of the African Union and African countries, of G7 member countries, international organisations and civil society.

The initiative aims to discuss concrete initiatives and cooperation modalities to promote education, training and skills acquisition as crucial tools to address the most pressing global challenges, starting with those that most directly affect the African continent. The outcomes of the discussions will be reported in the “Education and Development” section of the Final Communiqué of the G7 Development Summit, to be chaired by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, in Pescara from 22 to 24 October.

Representative of the press will be able to attend all sessions directly from the venue, subject to capacity.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Monday 30 September at 10:00 a.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 3078, 8210 or 8573), attaching the following:

For representatives of Italian press organisations:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • copy of an identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

Please note that no new accreditation requests will be accepted on the day of the event, only replacements.

Accreditation badges must be collected in person at the central entrance, first desk on the right, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

 

Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
