G7 High-Level Event
“Investing in Lifelong Learning for Job Creation and Resilience: a Dialogue with Africa”

The Royal Palace of Caserta will be the venue for the G7 High-Level Event “Investing in Lifelong Learning for Job Creation and Resilience: a Dialogue with Africa”, which the Italian G7 Presidency will host on 1 October 2024 at 09:30.
After the welcome address by the President of the National School of Administration, Paola Severino, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, will speak at the opening session. The following sessions will feature speeches by the Minister for Family, Birth Rate and Equal Opportunities, Eugenia Roccella; the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida (via video link); and, in the afternoon, by the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci (via video link). Other guests, including representatives of the African Union and African countries, G7 members, international organizations and civil society, will participate in the discussion.
The initiative intends to discuss concrete proposals and cooperation methods to promote education, training and skills acquisition as crucial tools to address the most urgent global challenges, starting with those that most directly affect Africa. The outcomes of the discussions will be reflected in the “Education and Development” section of the Final Communiqué of the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Development, which the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will chair in Pescara from 22 to 24 October.
All sessions will be open to the press that can follow them in the conference room up to full capacity.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the event may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Monday 30 September at 10:00 a.m. to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 3078, 8210 or 8573), attaching the following:
for representatives of Italian press organisations:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card.;
For representatives of foreign press organisations, not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
- copy of an identity document;
- letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
- Verbal Note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.
For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request shall be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.
Please note that on the day of the event it will not be possible to accept new accreditation requests, but only possible substitutions.
Accreditation badges shall be collected in person at the Vestibule of the Royal Palace of Caserta, main entrance, from 8:30 to 09:00 a.m.
