THIRD MEETING OF THE ITALIAN–FRENCH CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION COMMITTEE (CCF)

Forte di Bard (Municipality of Bard – Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley) – 4 June 2026

 

On Thursday 4 June 2026, the third meeting of the Italian–French Cross-Border Cooperation Committee will take place in the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley, at the Forte di Bard. The Committee was established under the Treaty of the Quirinal with the aim of promoting the development of local projects and removing obstacles to cross-border cooperation. The meeting will be co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Jean-Noël Barrot.

Preceded by a bilateral meeting between the two Ministers, the session will be hosted by the President of the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley, Renzo Testolin, and will be attended by representatives of local authorities, members of Parliament, cross-border cooperation bodies and central administrations. It will provide an opportunity to take stock of bilateral relations between Italy and France, discuss major international crises and look ahead to upcoming European and multilateral milestones.

Press programme

From 2:00 p.m. – Arrival of the two Ministers and their delegations, open to accredited photographers and cameramen;

2:15 p.m. – Anthems and group photo, open to accredited photographers and cameramen;

3:00 p.m. – Meeting of the Cross-Border Cooperation Committee, open to accredited operators for a brief camera spray at the beginning;

5:00 p.m. – Joint press conference by Ministers Tajani and Barrot, open to all accredited press.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen wishing to attend the event are kindly requested to register no later than 6:00 p.m. on Monday, 2 June, by completing the registration form at https://portaleaccreditamento.esteri.it and uploading the required documentation.

Those who are already registered on the online portal and have received confirmation of their registration may access their profile and select participation in the event.

Press badges must be collected in person at Forte di Bard, ticket office entrance, Via Vittorio Emanuele II, Bard (accessible by car via the A5 motorway, exits Pont-Saint-Martin to the south and Verrès to the north), on the day of the event as follows:

  • 30 p.m.               photographers and cameramen
  • 00 p.m.                journalists attending only the joint press conference

Please note that press access on the day will only be possible via the multi-storey car park at the foot of the Forte di Bard, ticket office entrance, using the lift system as detailed below. From the car park, access is provided via three consecutive lifts leading up to the Forte. Each lift has a capacity of 13 persons, with an ascent frequency of approximately 2 minutes. The total ascent time from the car park to the Forte di Bard is approximately 15 minutes.

Journalists wishing to leave their vehicles in the car park must communicate their vehicle registration plate in advance to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it no later than 6:00 p.m. on Monday 2 June.
