PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE

MINISTERIAL MEETING ON THE WESTERN BALKANS

(Villa Madama, July 10, 2026)

 

On Friday, July 10, 2026, the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the “Friends of the Western Balkans” Group and the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans will be held at Villa Madama. The meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.

The meeting will be attended by the Foreign Ministers and representatives of Austria, Croatia, Greece, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the six Balkan countries that are EU candidate or potential candidate countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and Serbia.

FAO Deputy Director-General Maurizio Martina and the European Coordinator of the Western Balkans-Eastern Mediterranean European Transport Corridor, Marian-Jean Marinescu, will also participate.

The works will be structured as follows:

 

  • 10:20-11:00 a.m. Arrival of Delegations (segment open to the press)
  • 11:10 AM-1:00 p.m. First Session: “One Union, One Goal: Shaping Future Accession Treaties” (open to photographers and cameramen for an initial set of shots)
  • 1:00-1:05 p.m. Family Photo (open to photographers and cameramen)
  • 1:30-3:30 p.m. Second Session: “Strategic Autonomy: Securing Food, Supply Chains, and Connectivity. A European Challenge” (closed to the press)
  • 3:30 p.m. Departure of Delegations

 

During the closed-door working sessions, the Casale di Villa Madama will be made available to the journalists who wish to stay and continue working.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in covering the events open to the press shall submit their accreditation request by Thursday, July 9, at 5:00 p.m. registering through the link https://portaleaccreditamento.esteri.it and attaching the required documents.

Those who have already registered on the online portal, and have already received confirmation from the system that their registration has been accepted, shall access their profile and select participation in the event.

Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen may access Villa Madama (Via di Villa Madama 250, Rome) directly with their own vehicles from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. It is necessary to provide the license plate number on the accreditation request. The outdoor parking lot located in front of Villa Madama’s main entrance, on the right, will be made available.
