A new series of events in London: A2B – Art to Business

The Italian Embassy in London is inaugurating a new series of events: A2B – Art to Business, a series of meetings aimed at celebrating Italian creativity and Made in Italy products. Culture, in all its forms, is a fundamental resource for Italy and this is why the Embassy promotes Art and the practical effects it has on the Country.

A2B will consist of a series of initiatives which, on the one hand, aims to celebrate the flair of Italian creatives and, on the other hand, enhances the sector’s economic impact and its image by highlighting the points of excellence of the world of Art and the professionalss in the economic, banking and financial sector who decide to support the Italian artistic production every day. Indeed, while the world of culture is pursuing innovative tools to support itself, the world of business and industry is increasingly celebrating creativity as a development tool.

The first event of the series will take place on 14 November: Michele Coppola, the director of the Art, Culture and Historical Heritage Department of Intesa Sanpaolo, and Roberta Cremoncini, the director of the Estorick Collection, will engage in a conversation moderated by journalist Angela Antetomaso and discuss the patronage of banking foundations. A2B has already fostered a first important collaboration: on the day of the event, the Embassy will be hosting a masterpiece by Maestro Umberto Boccioni (Officine a Porta Romana, 1909-1910) from the Intesa collection, which will then be displayed in the exhibition “Woman + Landscape Umberto Boccioni 1907 – 1912” from 21 November 2018 to 20 January 2019 in the Italian Museum in Islington. The series will continue with quarterly events devoted to design, haute couture, contemporary art and music.
