Italian cinema to be screened in Prague at the MittelCinemaFest

The next edition of the MittelCinemaFest, the Mitteleuropean Italian contemporary cinema festival, will be hosted in Prague from 28 November to 4 December 2019. The announcement was made at the close of this year’s edition, which was held in the cities of Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Brno and Ostrava. The Festival is fruit of the cooperation between the Italian Embassy and Cultural Institute and the Istituto Luce Cinecitta’, with the support of CAMIC – the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The films that received the biggest public acclaim in this year’s edition were: ‘Un nemico che ti vuole bene’ by Denis Rabaglia, an Italian-Swiss coproduction that was screened in Prague and Brno also thanks to the cooperation of the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation to the Czech Republic; ‘Lucia’s Grace’ (‘Troppa Grazia’) by Gianni Zanasi; ‘The Stolen Caravaggio’ (‘Una storia senza nome’) by Roberto Ando’; ‘We’ll Be Young and Beautiful’ (‘Saremo giovani e bellissimi’) by Letizia Lamartire; ‘Twin Flower’ (‘Fiore gemello’) by Laura Luchetti; ‘Boys Cry’ (‘La terra dell’abbastanza’) by Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo; ‘Dogman’ by Matteo Garrone; ‘The Armadillo’s Prophecy’ (‘La profezia dell’armadillo’) by Emanuele Scaringi; ‘The Man who Bought the Moon’ (‘L’uomo che comprò la luna’) by Paolo Zucca and ‘Capri-Revolution’ by Mario Martone. This edition of the Festival was also sponsored by ENIT and Ferrero with the contribution of several other businesses operating in the local market.
