Supported by the Italian Embassy in Beijing, the Italian ski resort and gear industry, featuring its ski resorts, brands and high-tech ski gear manufacturers, was among the exhibitors at the 11th edition of Alpitec China in Beijing organised by Fiera Bolzano. The fair is a particularly important point of reference for the whole Asia Pacific area ahead of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the Milan-Cortina candidacy for 2026. At Alpitec China, of particular interest was the workshop conducted by Bruno Felicetti, the Deputy Director of the cablecar system of Madonna di Campiglio and the one on safety on ski slopes by Stefano Murari, the Commander of the Alpine School of the Guardia di Finanza of Predazzo (province of Trento), who also spoke of Alpine rescue operations. China could find it useful to cooperate with the Alpine School of Pedrazzo with a view to providing training on keeping ski slopes safe and assuring first aid and evacuation operations in ski resorts. Furthermore, the Beijing Office of the ICE Agency set up a “Lounge Italia” inside its Alpitec pavilion, where Chinese guests watched promotional videos on the companies present at the fair, Italian ski resorts and the Italian candidacy for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Thanks to the promotion and coordination of the Italian Embassy in Beijing, many Italian companies are already in the list of equipment suppliers for the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
