Hanoi: Italian-Vietnamese Forum on Higher Education

Hanoi hosted the Italian-Vietnamese Forum on Higher Education. The event, organised by the Italian Embassy and by the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, in association with Uni-Italia Vietnam and Van Lang University, tackled themes relative to the mobility of students, researchers and professors, joint research projects, financing options, visa-related issues, and the creation of an alumni association. In fact, cultural exchanges between Italy and Vietnam are on a continuous uptrend with 521 student visas issued to Vietnamese students in 2018; 107 inter-university agreements; more than 1,000 University students studying Italian in Vietnam; and over 50 Italian students on student exchange programmes in Vietnam. The Forum, which opened with remarks by the Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Antonio Alessandro and by the Director of External Relations at the Ministry of Education and Training, Pham Quang Hung, was attended by representatives of 18 Italian universities and research institutes.  The event was held concomitantly to the “Italian Days on Higher Education”, the annual expo of Italian universities that takes place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang.
