The Italian Institute of Culture in Prague dedicated the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, on the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz, to Primo Levi. The conference on the writer’s work, held by Domenico Scarpa, who has co-authored with Roberta Mori the book “Album Primo Levi”, focused on the complex life and experience of Levi, combining visual language with elements of literature, current events, poetry and historical testimonies. As part of the commemorations for the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, with the coordination of the Director of the Institute Alberta Lai, on 5 and 13 February, the Baroque chapel in the Institute will host two events inspired by the theme of “The Righteous”, sponsored by the representatives of the “Train of Commemoration” Sabrina Di Carlo and Alessandro Azzolina, in collaboration with Martina Landi and Joshua Evangelista of Gariwo – the Forest of the Righteous, and Tomas Kraus, a member of the Jewish Community of Prague. Last but not least, on 13 February a meeting will be held with Hana Hnátová, sister of the renowned author Arnost Lusting, who passed away in February 2011, with whom she was interned in the concentration camps of Terezin and Auschwitz.
